With their revolving rhythms, swirling synths and rough textures, they seek to build an experience of music manufactory that incorporates elements of krautrock, psychedelic rock, noise rock, no-wave and EDM! Drawing on influences from the early electronic, Autobahn-inspired works of Kraftwerk, and the hypnotic repetition of Krautrock legends Neu! and CAN, Zement have crafted a unique hybrid sound that feels both nostalgic and futuristic. Inspired by the works of artists from New York's Downtown scene, like John Zorn, Sonic Youth, LCD Soundsystem, Oneida or Animal Collective. The new album "Passagen" find Zement diving even more further into an eclectic mix of contemporary electronic dance music, combined with influences from Fuzz-Rock, Jazz, Noise and No-Wave sounds. Going even more further, Passagen turned out to be a concept album, in which words will find more space than ever before. It is set to take Zement’s exploration of sound even further. It delivers more disco, more punch, more glitter, more motorik, more jazz. The endless meditation on the architecture of mind and the movement of bodies continues!

 

Similarly, Ex Colorado - born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and currently based in Frankfurt by the Argentine musician and music producer José D’Agostino- invites listeners on a journey through shimmering soundscapes, where Krautrock rhythms pulse beneath the glow of Dream pop and Synthwave. Their songs delved into what he coined as “Dreamykraut” where repetitive beats work as a backdrop for textural guitars and synth sounds, in layers that take the listener in an emotive journey, sometimes moving forward incessantly, sometimes leaving it floating in a meditative state. As emotional and introspective bubbles floating in the ever fast paced repetition that characterize our times.

Ihre erste Single war auch gleich die bislang erfolgreichste. „Angriff aufs Schlaraffenland“ aus dem Jahr 1980: Hart schlägt der dürre Beat, dazu klimpert jemand eine Kindermelodie auf einem Billig-Keyboard. Dann diese Stimme, der man solche Zeilen nicht zutraut: „Ich flieg hier in meinem Jet / Klappen auf zwo, drei vier, Napalm raus / Das Schlaraffenland brennt! Das Schlaraffenland brennt! / Und jetzt nix wie nach Haus“. In dieser Zeit war alles möglich: elektronische Musik, Gitarrensounds, Postpunk auf Kinderinstrumenten – in neuer Offenheit wurde vieles vermischt. Neue Freiräume noch für Kinder und Kindeskinder erobert.

Also, begrüßen wir Limburgs schönste Art-Punks, alberne Typen, subversive Radau-Avantgardisten, die stets darauf Wert legten, „Nicht-Musiker“ zu sein. Auch Fans der B-52’s oder von DAF könnten es lieben.

Nun erscheint ein 4CD-Boxset mit allen Aufnahmen aus den Jahren 1978-1984. Darunter die drei original Alben (jeweils mit Bonus-Tracks): „Eisbären & Zitronen“ (1981), „In Hollywood“ (1983) und „Gott und die Welt“ (1984), sowie eine 4. CD mit dem Titel „Alles für die Katz“ auf der 21 Singles, Demos und Raritäten zu hören sind.
